About us
John McAllister DDS
For more than 20 years, Dr. McAllister has been practicing excellent dentistry. To keep himself and his dental care team abreast and up-to-date with the latest technology and trends in dentistry, they regularly attend dental-related conferences, seminars, symposia and post graduate studies. Dr. McAllister is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is currently the acting secretary of the Downey Dental Academy and is one of the clinical instructors at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry. He also teaches the FDA-approved Laser-Assisted Periodontal Therapy for general dental practitioners and periodontists who want to incorporate this treatment effectively into their dental practices.
Married with two daughters who attend Downey’s public schools, Dr. McAllister is actively involved in the Downey Chamber of Commerce, where he is a member of its board of directors. He is also a vice president of the Downey Pro-Networkers and is a member of the board of directors of the United Latin Council.
Dr. McAllister is actively involved in his church—OLPH. He enjoys sailing, especially in Long Beach. He currently holds the coveted "Cuba Cup" of Pacific Sailing.

Lisa RDH
Lisa has been serving the Downey comunity for over 20 years here at this office. She is married to a retired LAPD officer and has two daughters. When not cleaning teeth she is active with the Sherifs Department where she is active with the Equestrian Unit.
Jenny RDH
Jenny has been a Dental Hygienist for over 16 years 14 of those here at this practice. She is married to a Minister of The Seventh Day Adventist Church and has 2 children whom she home schools.
Allison RDH
With over 30 years of experience in dental assisting, dental hygiene and practice management, Allison Teel is a powerful presence in the dental industry. Her clinical skills include a mastery of laser periodontal therapy, ergonomics and ultrasonic therapy. Through speaking and coaching, Allison has the ability to inspire teams to deliver the ultimate in patient service while creating a productive hygiene department. Allison has a passion for educating every patient toward a balance in their total body health. She spends countless hours every year volunteering for several non-profit dental clinics which serve women and children throughout Southern California.
Joni RDH
Joni is our most recent Dental Hygienist to join our Downey Dental practice. Dental hygiene students took home top prizes at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association national competition in Nashville, Tenn., on June 16.

She has been in dentistry over 20 years and has a wealth of information regarding dental insurance and patient financial coordination. She is married and has two children.
